ESSA III Certified!
During the 2023-24 and 2022-23 school years, a third-party research group conducted three studies to evaluate the impact of Really Great Reading’s instructional programs on literacy outcomes among elementary students in three public school districts. These studies examined the effectiveness of RGR’s approach in promoting reading growth across different grade levels, reinforcing its alignment with ESSA Evidence Level III standards.
The use of RGR products in one public school district during the 2023-2024 school year, yielded positive results for both educators and learners. Educators reported benefiting from access to new resources, easy-to-present lessons, and a greater understanding of the Science of Reading, while teachers’ use of RGR was positively associated with students’ literacy outcomes as well.
Kindergarten students whose teachers incorporated more of RGR’s Countdown instruction into their reading curriculum achieved significantly higher mid-year reading scores, highlighting the positive association between RGR’s instructional methods and foundational literacy development in early education.
For students in grades 2 through 5, those whose teachers dedicated a substantial portion of their reading block to Really Great Reading instruction demonstrated significantly higher end-of-year reading scores, underscoring the effectiveness of RGR's programs in enhancing reading achievement.
