What is outcomes-based contracting (OBC)?
Outcomes-based contracting is a partnership model in which a portion of a provider’s compensation is connected to agreed-upon student outcomes or implementation milestones.
At Really Great Reading, outcomes-based partnerships are designed collaboratively with districts. They align expectations, define measures of success, and create shared accountability for improving literacy outcomes.
How is RGR different from a curriculum vendor, tutoring service, or AI reading app?
Really Great Reading does more than provide a product or isolated service. We combine evidence-based literacy instruction with professional learning, implementation planning, coaching, progress monitoring, and ongoing district partnership.
Our goal is not to create long-term dependence on an outside provider. It is to build the knowledge, systems, and instructional capacity districts need to improve and sustain student outcomes.
Does RGR guarantee results?
No responsible education provider can guarantee a specific outcome for every student or district. Student results are influenced by implementation, instructional time, educator participation, local conditions, and other factors.
RGR does, however, bring evidence-based programs, proven implementation practices, ongoing support, clear measures of success, and shared accountability to help districts maximize the likelihood of measurable literacy improvement.

Yes. Really Great Reading’s instructional approach is grounded in decades of research on how students learn to read. Our programs provide explicit, systematic instruction in foundational literacy skills and are supported by independent research, ESSA-aligned evidence, and EdReports “green” ratings.
