Scheduling a Workshop at Your School FAQs

Q: How do I go about scheduling a training at my district or school?

A: Please send us the following information:

  • State
  • District name
  • School name
  • Contact name
  • Contact title
  • Three dates that work for you
  • Number of educators being trained
  • Grade levels of teachers being trained
  • Location of training room
  • Are you using any of our programs? (Countdown, Blast, HD Word, Boost or Blitz)
  • A description of your training needs

Q: How much does it cost to have a training at my district or school?

A: One-day workshop honorarium- $2,750  ($2,000 per day, plus $750 travel)

Q: What is included in the training?

A: Our one-day workshop honorarium of $2,750 includes a full day of professional development. Our workshops are 7 hours and include a 45-minute lunch break. We suggest 8:30AM to 3:30PM. We bring all the supplies necessary to participate in an exceptional day of learning.

Q: Do you provide half day trainings?

A: We believe that it is important to provide a full day of training to educators. We teach in one day what most professional development teaches in three days. Our one-day workshops are incredibly efficient, and we've designed them to cover a tremendous amount in 7 hours. Our mission is to facilitate excellent student outcomes. A half-day workshop limits our ability to provide the best path forward to ensure student outcomes. Please note there are exceptions, but a half-day training is not something we suggest.

Open Workshop FAQs

Q: Where can I find a calendar of your open workshops?

A: Click on Workshops and PD  on the websites navigation bar or go to www.reallygreatreading.com/workshops

Q: What is the difference between a paid and complimentary seat?

A: If you choose to come on a paid seat it is $199 and includes a Starter Kit (approximately $300 worth of materials). Complimentary seats are reserved for educators, and we suggest a complimentary seat. Complimentary seats do not include a starter kit, but your complimentary seats include a full day of hands-on, activity driven professional development. You will leave the workshop with practical strategies, a workshop training manual, and techniques to help your emerging, developing and struggling readers.

Q: Why is the workshop complimentary? Is it a product presentation?

A: We are a mission-based company. We believe that if we offer deep, efficient and effective professional development, educators will be better equipped to help their students. This is absolutely not a product presentation. Our workshops are our way of giving back, and they have been developed and refined over the course of 10 years to make it as efficient and strategy filled as possible. We value your time. You will walk away energized and ready to immediately apply the knowledge in your classroom. Our workshops are fun, fact filled, and full of hands-on learning.
