A third-party research group examined whether students who used Really Great Reading Instruction improved literacy outcomes for elementary school students in an urban school district and a large public school district during the 2022/2023 school year in two distinct studies. 

Key Findings from Study 1 

First through third grade students who used Really Great Reading had significantly higher mid-year reading scores than students who did not use Really Great Reading programs.

Key Findings from Study 2 

Kindergarten students who received Really Great Reading instruction had significantly higher end-of-year composite reading scores, letter naming fluency scores, and nonsense word fluency scores than students who did not use Really Great Reading programs.

A third-party research group examined the impact of usage of Really Great Reading’s instructional programs on student literacy outcomes for elementary school students in two public school districts during the 2022/2023 school year in two distinct studies.

Key Findings from Study 1

For second through fifth grade students, having a teacher who used Really Great Reading as a greater chunk of their reading block was significantly associated with increased reading scores at the end of the year.

On average, among Kindergarten students, having a teacher who used RGR's Countdown instruction as a greater proportion of their reading instruction was significantly associated with increased middle of year reading scores.

A third-party research group developed a logic model for Really Great Reading’s instructional programs. A logic model provides a program road map, detailing participants reached, program activities, outputs, and outcomes. The study examined the extent to which Really Great Reading's implementation relates to teacher knowledge, instruction, and student literacy outcomes.

This study demonstrated a rationale by providing a detailed logic model informed by previous, high-quality research.
