Intervention gives students the focused support they need to rebuild essential reading skills and accelerate growth. When foundational skills are underdeveloped, targeted instruction helps students regain momentum and move confidently toward grade-level reading.
Many K–12 students struggle because they never receive consistent, explicit instruction in the foundational skills that make reading possible. When phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, and language development are introduced only briefly or practiced inconsistently, students miss the core building blocks required for comprehension and confidence.
These gaps rarely resolve on their own. Students need timely intervention that rebuilds essential skills and gives them a clear path back to grade-level reading.
Students require Tier 2 or Tier 3 support when the essential components of reading - phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and oral language – are not fully developed. Without focused, consistent intervention, these gaps widen each year, making it harder for students to access grade-level learning.
